My communication style

Therapy sessions with me are interactive. I see and communicate the strengths clients have, so I am supportive and gentle, but am direct in sharing strategies that work to make the needed changes. I create a non-judgmental environment and believe in the worth of every person, regardless of their experiences.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was very anxious and depressed as a child and adolescent. When I majored in psychology, I became more introspective and started learning WHY I believed certain things. Challenging my own negative self-talk, & practicing some Mindfulness strategies has moved me into a happy life. I enjoy helping others find ways to make their own lives better.

My goals for you

We will discuss together what outcomes we want to work on and collaboratively set goals. This will give our time together more direction and a context. These goals may change as the process of therapy continues and we explore more about your life and needs.

Our first session

My first session with you is our opportunity to start to get to know each other. I like to find out what issues and symptoms need to be addressed and get a brief life history (past and present). That is also when we will determine what goals we will work on together.
