My approach

The most common theoretical approaches I use include motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The goal and concerns of the client help determine the therapeutic approach.

My communication style

My communication style is calm and patient. I want my clients to feel comfortable and feel they can talk about anything without feeling like they are being judged.

My journey to mental healthcare

I've always been drawn to helping people, and social work was the perfect avenue for me. I've always seemed to be the person that people felt safe talking to. I love it when you see that light bulb turn on and people realize they can accomplish their goals and feel empowered.

My goals for you

I feel goals are very important, and I love working with clients in goal setting. My approach is to have the client pick up to three areas in which they want to work. Together, we narrow that down to the most important one. We come up with a goal for that area and tasks that can be accomplished to help achieve the goal.

Our first session

The first session is focused on the client's understanding of the therapeutic process and what to expect from this relationship. Building rapport and answering questions will be the focus of the first session.
