My communication style

I am very engaging and open with my clients. I try to treat all of my clients how I would want to be treated if I were in their shoes receiving treatment. Receiving mental health treatment can be intimidating and uncomfortable. I try my best to make the process as relatable and inviting as possible.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have always known I wanted to work in mental health, I guess because of how I grew up and personally understanding what depression and anxiety feel like. I also have an autistic son, and that has also driven me to this field.

My goals for you

We generally set goals specifically related to hoping for a specific response from the medications prescribed or adjustments made during each session. We continue to follow up regularly until the client feels he or she are in a good place with the treatment plan, then generally follow up routinely for refills/maintenance of the treatment plan.

Our first session

I try to set a realistic tone with my client about what to expect and lay out the process of finding the right medication combination during the first session. This can be a trial-and-error experience. I gather a detailed history of past mental health treatment, medications tried and failed, etc. We then choose an appropriate treatment together.
