My communication style

My southern accent has been acknowledged by some clients, but my tone is clear, direct, and safe. Clients who work with me have received confrontation (what we counselors may call conformation) but support. Life is about lessons, some are sought while others may be forced, but in a session with me, we explore those that are relevant.

My journey to mental healthcare

Mental health is my passion and ranks as important as physical health. Grief, anger, regret, resentment, and identity are personal experiences that have motivated me to help others express themselves and regain their power.

My goals for you

I focus on realistic goals because most people are overachievers. We start by identifying your 'why'—if there's no personal attachment, we confront the goal's purpose. We identify false beliefs, check in regularly, and adjust as needed.

Our first session

Our first session is about getting to know you, and that may continue into following sessions. We'll establish an understanding of the counseling relationship and create a plan for sessions to come.
