My communication style

Rather than looking at the appointments as provider-driven, I tend to view them as more of a collaborative and team approach between myself and the patient, which includes working alongside them in coming up with a treatment plan.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have worked in numerous medical fields as a registered nurse, and during that time, I discovered my passion for helping those with mental health needs. I saw that often only the physical issues were being addressed, but the mental health issues were being overlooked. I also saw the severe lack of help available for those struggling.

My goals for you

Rather than focusing on diagnoses and coming up with a goal structured towards the diagnosis, I prefer to listen to the patient and explore their goals, and then, together, come up with a planned path towards helping them reach those goals.

Our first session

During the first appointment, we will spend time discussing both past and current psychiatric symptoms, what has and has not worked. I listen to the patient regarding their goals and then review treatment plan options to assist in obtaining those goals.
