Hi there, I'm Dara!

My own experiences mirror the challenges my clients face, giving me unique perspectives and relatedness to what you may be experiencing. Life may break us, but it is in those broken pieces we find our strength. I have witnessed how my clients discover their resilience in moments of struggle.

My focus

My focus is on clients who are motivated to work on their goals and who want to thrive. I believe that all of us can make the desired change. I have hope for clients when they want to change.

My approach

I work with survivors of trauma using EMDR, which has transformed lives. I also use dialectical behavior therapy to help clients navigate intense emotions and cognitive behavior therapy to show how thoughts influence mood and behavior. These approaches open new pathways for healing.

My communication style

My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where people can speak openly. I focus on active and reflective listening. At the end of the session, I will ask for your feedback.

My journey to mental healthcare

My mother influenced me to become a therapist. She helped people in the community with various needs and supported my career. I love watching people grow and have seen clients move from homelessness to homeownership.

Goal setting is a collaborative process. Together, we identify your goals and objectives. Your goals will be specific, measurable, achievable, and time-specific so we can track progress and celebrate growth.

Our first session

It's OK not to be OK. You may feel some anxiety during the first session, and that's normal. We will work through this together. I'll complete an assessment to get to know you better while we check each other out. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space with unconditional positive regard.
