Hi there, I'm Lorena!

Oftentimes, people can feel stuck and like they have nowhere to turn. I work to create a safe space to share and talk about struggles and concerns. Along with this, creating a space to work through these concerns and creating a healthy space to be in.

My focus

I work with couples, adult individuals, and families. I focus on age groups 14 and up. Working from an online forum, working with clients younger than 14 tends to not be as beneficial with this forum.

My approach

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work from a systems-focused approach, meaning that we see how all parts of life are impacting emotions and situations in day-to-day living.

My communication, although direct and intentional, stems from a place of compassion and a desire to foster understanding.

My journey to mental healthcare

I entered this profession in my late 30s and was drawn to it with a desire to understand behaviors and help others work through issues and concerns. As life has happened, this want has only grown stronger and working to pull from personal experiences to better work with clients.

My goals for you

Working to understand the needs of each client at the start of sessions, along with checking in regularly and reflecting with clients on progress, allows for goals to be evaluated and met or evaluated and reworked.

Our first session

Session one is getting to know the needs of the client while allowing them to ask questions of me, as well as gaining a better understanding of my approach and understanding of therapy. This session will also allow clients to identify what they feel is bringing them to therapy and to express what they feel are the primary needs to be focused on.
