My communication style

I am assertive yet calm. Being client-centered, I adapt my approach based on your personality and emotional climate. I will always be honest and, at times, will challenge when needed. Working with me tends to feel warm and peaceful. I want you to feel seen, heard, valued, and loved.

My journey to mental healthcare

I overcame difficult circumstances including loss, trauma, and illness. The way I present in session is authentic; I have walked the desert road yet refused to give up. I will cheer for you until you can cheer for yourself. I am driven by passion and spirituality to help you build your tapestry and redesign your life.

My goals for you

Goal setting is collaborative and about what you envision for yourself. I ask probing and clarifying questions to elicit your insights. I frame goals by being measurable and obtainable, sharing how accomplishing them increases motivation and heals self-esteem. The key is setting goals that are obtainable within a reasonable time.

Our first session

The first few sessions focus on building rapport. I welcome you and ask what brought you to therapy, explain limits to confidentiality, obtain consent, and open dialogue for questions. Within the first or second session, I explore your experience with therapy, what worked or did not, and your goals for therapy.
