Hi there, I'm Gloria!

I am a licensed clinical social worker with training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, solution-focused treatment, and family systems theory, including work with couples. My approach is to address issues gently, which brought someone into therapy immediately.

I work with individuals of all ages, couples, and have experience with families. I enjoy working with all ages and have developed a following of couples.

My approach

My most common theoretical approach to therapy is to work with a basic understanding of what the client believes is going on and reflect and interpret what about it is rational. My training includes Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Solution-Focused therapy.

My communication style is open, warm, and friendly as well as honest. I believe that clients feel supported and comfortable working with me.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was attracted to the idea of having a career as a therapist when I completed interfaith seminary training in New York City. The idea of helping people have a better and healthier home life, relationship, or be more content with their life purpose, choices, and journey is my goal and pleasure.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting with the client by asking them what they want from the therapeutic experience. We start with smaller goals, and if they are happy with their progress, we move on to larger goals.

Our first session

During my first session, I got some background information from them and tried to find out as much as possible about what the issues are in order to begin to alleviate some stress to start out. Some homework may be given to help them reflect and develop introspection, and bring it in for the session next time.
