My communication style

I'm empathetic and supportive as well as neutral and objective. Expect active listening, open-ended questions, and thoughtful feedback. Trust and mutual respect are paramount, so I prioritize open communication and honesty to create a safe space. I also incorporate humor when appropriate to help put things into perspective.

My journey to mental healthcare

Through my own journey in personal growth, I came to appreciate the value of insight. I'm blessed with enormous fulfillment from the knowledge and skills I've developed in the helping profession, and the ways I've successfully collaborated with clients to heal and reach their full potential.

My goals for you

The first step is identifying a hierarchy of needs. Top goals directly address managing symptoms causing distress. Other goals relate to acute emotional issues like anger management, emotional regulation, or trauma resolution. I collaborate with you through periodic assessments, feedback on progress, and discussing next steps.

Our first session

The first session is the intake assessment, a three-step process. First, we make introductions, I explain my policies and practice, and answer your questions. Second, you tell me your reasons for seeking treatment and we review your symptoms. Third, I ask key questions about your safety and functioning to get a full picture.
