I effectively support patients with developing self-awareness and emotion regulation through the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Patients use their new periods of calm to direct their movement toward values-based and actionable goals and improve their lives.
My focus
My clients are motivated to learn about themselves in an accepting, well-boundaried space that emphasizes non-judgmental self-assessment and learning. Patients have typically noticed symptoms of mood dysregulation (periods of agitation, anxiety, or depressed mood and low motivation) or ongoing challenges in interpersonal problem-solving.
My approach
Therapy is intended to be peaceful and soothing, and allows for new skill development to be practiced and assessed. New skills are challenging in the world; the therapeutic space allows for the dust to settle while new behaviors are shaped.
