My communication style

The type of communication I use is unique as I can be soft-spoken, assertive, and honest with good listening skills. I normally have a quiet atmosphere with soft music in the background ( not always is there music).

My journey to mental healthcare

I was a nurse's aide and wanted to do more, so I decided to be a social worker. I picked that because of my background, my upbringing, and how people treated me. I feel I made the right decision as I get to hear people's stories, assist with their journey we call life, and watch people grow and thrive.

My goals for you

When working with me, I have the clients tell me their goals, wants, and needs. I will suggest goals in a crisis.

Our first session

In the first session, I like to introduce myself and have the clients introduce themselves. I like to go over rules and regulations, then have the clients tell me their expectations and what they want to obtain from therapy. If there is time, I like to start with a simple background of their lives (if they are comfortable).
