Hi there, I'm Suzanne!

I believe in reality therapy along with Humanistic therapy. I have a passion for working with those struggling in relationships, whether couples, marriage, or family. I also enjoy working with those who suffer from depression and anxiety. I have expertise in substance abuse, postpartum, infidelity, and narcissism.

My focus

I am diverse and comfortable in treating many different populations. However, my recent focus is on couples/marriage counseling. I also work closely with those who suffer from anxiety and depression.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is Humanistic therapy. I focus on my client's positive characteristics and growth potential. I encourage free expression and unconditional positive regard.

My communication style

My clients really respect my calming demeanor and honesty. I'm extremely approachable and make the counseling setting very comfortable. Positive relationships are developed due to my style.

My journey to mental healthcare

Very simple, the desire to help others. We all come from different backgrounds and carry some type of baggage, as I call it. I have some personal issues that I have gone through, and I enjoy sharing with my clients how I have overcome them. I feel your greatest therapists can relate to what their clients are going through.

My goals for you

I like to work together with my clients on goal setting. I feel goals that are set should feel attainable and not overwhelming.

The intake, or as I call it, the 'getting to know each other session'. I like to speak a bit about my background and who I am. Also, it is extremely important to find out about my client's background, history of counseling, and what they expect from me as their therapist.
