My communication style

My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. In addition to dialogue, I use homework assignments to supplement therapy.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was 19 when I was wounded in a firefight in Vietnam. When I returned home, it was a different world for me from before I was drafted. After several surgeries and my therapies, I felt compelled to give back. Since that decision was made, I found that I can identify the needs and wants of others who are in emotional despair.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building trust between us & getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. From the beginning, we'll work together to set goals, track your progress, & upgrade your goals as you progress.

Our first session

During our first session, you will find me to be eager to understand the depth of your concerns. I will offer you the opportunity to express your emotional pain while giving you feedback and reflecting on your thoughts and feelings.
