Hi there, I'm Charles!

I work with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families seeking counseling. I help clients with trauma, emotional abuse, stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, adolescent concerns, parenting problems, and career challenges.

I work with clients facing trauma, emotional abuse, stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, adolescent concerns, parenting problems, career challenges, and sexual identity. I also work with first responders such as police, firefighters, EMTs, and nurses who have experienced or witnessed physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My approach

I customize therapy based on your needs using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoeducation with Mindfulness, and Acceptance approaches. My therapy uncovers underlying issues that contribute to maladaptive life patterns. I believe psychological symptoms communicate what we've been unable to speak.

My communication style

My style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want you to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I listen without judgment. I use homework assignments to supplement therapy, aimed at helping us think through issues between sessions.

My journey to mental healthcare

After being wounded and returning home, I felt compelled to give back. I found I can identify the needs of others in emotional despair. I've worked in forensics, with wounded military and their families, and in private practice. I enjoy every encounter with my clients.

My approach to goal setting is about working together to define what you want to accomplish. We start by building trust and getting comfortable with therapy. From the beginning, we'll set goals, track your progress, and upgrade them as you progress.
