My approach to therapy employs an eclectic model of various interventions unique to the individual client's needs. I find it imperative to address psychological issues and promote emotional well-being. Two of my focus areas of practice are Grief and Bereavement and Veterans.
My focus
The types of clients with whom I most typically assist are high-functioning adults, ages 18 - 70. I am most comfortable treating individuals in an office setting or via telehealth who are new to therapy or have had therapy previously. Individuals diagnosed previously who have chosen medication management or prefer to only work through talk therapy.
My approach
My theoretical approach begins with establishing rapport to create a welcoming and safe environment, establishing trust through empathy and a non-judgmental attitude. Identifying the needs of the clients through previous mental health therapy or self-reporting symptoms. I find it important to maintain active engagement and develop coping strategies
