Hi there, I'm Jessa!

I help couples, families, adolescents, and adults cope with stress, behavioral issues, transitions, relationships, and parenting. I work to help all of my clients improve their lives and relationships. I am an LGBTQAI gender and sex positive affirming therapist.

My focus

I work with parents and families to reduce stress, decrease difficult behaviors, and improve family functioning. I help couples resolve issues and improve communication. I provide a supportive space for LGBTQAI clients working through coming out, self-acceptance, transition, and discrimination.

My approach

My approach is open-minded, non-judgmental, and solution-focused. I incorporate family systems and cognitive behavioral therapy methods as well as provide support and resources to help you create meaningful change.

My communication style

I listen, empathize, and support. I am also very interactive, assessing the situation through questions and providing helpful insight and interventions to change what's not working so you can progress and resolve or cope with the issues you are experiencing.

My journey to mental healthcare

I knew early that helping others is who I am. I chose to become a therapist because I wanted to help clients improve their family and romantic relationships. I love being a therapist and a mom.

My goals for you

I listen to what has been happening, what your concerns are, and what you want to be different. I develop a plan to address the barriers to help you meet your goals. We go over it together and make any changes needed until you feel good about the plan.

Our first session

I will do a lot of listening while you tell me about your experiences and what has brought you to counseling. I will also ask questions to gather information about you, to get the best possible picture of your life and experiences and how they are affecting you.
