Most of my clients are grappling with grief, anxiety, relationships, or career issues. The type of therapy I find most helpful is called ACT.
My focus
ACT skills help with grief, anxiety, stress, and relationships. The skills emphasize improving mindfulness, coping, and impulse control. My clients have learned ways to manage and resolve conflicts and to develop healthy boundaries. I also offer career counseling to address career decisions, family influences on career, and strengths development.
My approach
ACT stands for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This involves commitment to making changes to whatever psychological or external things are keeping you from living a full life based on your values. I use the ACT workbook 'Reclaim Your Life' with clients to guide our work together.
