Hi there, I'm Stephen!

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in SC, recently retired from 13 years of serving Veterans in and around York. SC. Before this, I worked with a large medical group in ND from 2007-2012. My areas of clinical focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral health issues, including chronic pain. Now I work in private practice.

My focus

In the past, I served a wide variety of persons and issues: anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship problems, substance and behavior issues. I am trained in behavioral health, including CBT for Chronic Pain. Now, I prefer to work with stable patients (no active suicidality) seeking a short-term, focused, active episode of care (6-18 sessions).

My approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded in CBT; however, I am flexible in my methods. I view the therapeutic relationship as key to helping clients achieve their goals. Trust-building, listening to understand my client's needs and wants, is my priority. This begins a collaborative process of treatment planning and goal setting.
