Hi there, I'm Pamela!

I have a person-centered approach to therapy, and I believe in building trust and safety in the therapeutic alliance. My focus is on mental health, trauma, depression, and addictions. I have also served people who identify as LGBTQ and who are struggling with cultural identity.

My focus

I have worked with clients who have substance use disorders, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and borderline personality disorders. I have also worked with Transgender individuals and those struggling with cultural identity.

My approach

I have been trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma and recovery, and I also practice somatic therapy approaches.

My communication style

I strive to set an environment of safety. I want you to feel safe enough to share and explore things that are causing distress. I work to make sure all sessions are professional and ethical, and I work to make a therapeutic connection with my clients.

My journey to mental healthcare

I was driven to this work because of a fabulous experience I had with a personal therapist. The support and kindness shown to me during a very difficult time in my life convinced me that I wanted to do that for someone else.

I believe that you are the expert in your life. I approach goal setting as a collaborative and ongoing event.

During the first session, I would like you to set your intentions for therapy and share your expectations. I will share how I will work to support you while you are making progress towards your goal. I would like to get to know you, and I would like you to get to know me as we move through the process.
