My journey to mental healthcare

I have worked several human service jobs since obtaining my bachelor's degree including an almost 20 year stint in community mental health, 19 of that in supervision. That experience has given me a broad knowledge of mental health diagnoses, social and cultural implications for mental health and the need for advocacy and other support.

My goals for you

It seems that most people are beyond ready for things to change when they finally take the step to seek out counseling. I always try to address something early on that we could apply some easy intervention for and make it better quickly while we continue to assess the deeper parts of the issue at hand and create a more robust treatment plan.

Our first session

The first session with me would start with a review of your history, what brings you to therapy right now and what results you would like to see from therapy. I always like to identify at least one simple step to take away from even an intake session that you can put in place quickly and see a difference.
