I let my clients take the lead in what they want to talk about in therapy. I consider clients to be the experts on themselves and what they want to work on. I like to tell clients their options for whatever they consider important work.
My focus
I truly believe all clients have strengths, gifts, skills, and healing options within them. I have worked extensively with depressed and anxious individuals as well as couples, families, and various children's issues. I work with teens and children from a family systems approach to help the whole family function better.
My approach
I use cognitive behavioral skills to help talk therapy patients and teach coping skills from dialectical behavioral therapy if needed. For family or couples counseling, I rely on systems theory, attachment theory, and Gottman's material.
