My communication style

My goal is to create a safe, comfortable space that is adaptive to my patient and my patient's needs. I have a strong drive to teach and educate my patients about our treatment plan - I never want my patients to not understand why they are taking a medication.

My journey to mental healthcare

While I was assigned to an acute mental health unit, I became very interested in understanding "why" people respond to trauma how they do. Another motivator was that my oldest daughter has struggled with her mental health, and while seeking treatment options for her, I never felt as though I was heard by the provider.

My goals for you

Mental Health Care is a "team sport". By saying that, my patient is highly involved in goal setting and treatment plan options.

Our first session

During our first session, it is my goal to understand YOU. I want to know the circumstances that brought you to seek mental health treatment, your background, your family dynamic, as well as your school and work-life balance. Mental health is fluid, and if there is an imbalance, I want to know.
