Hi there, I'm Susan!

I'm so excited you have decided to get some help to make the changes in your life to feel and function better. We will work together to help you reach your goals. I hope to make you comfortable, whether this is your first time in therapy or you have been doing this for years.

My focus

I work with adults and adolescents. I teach clients about mindfulness, boundaries, self-esteem, gratefulness, communication skills, conflict resolution, goal setting, and life transitions.

My approach

I use cognitive-behavioral therapy to help you challenge irrational thinking that contributes to anxiety, depression, anger, and panic attacks. I take an eclectic approach and adjust to whatever your needs are in each session and situation.

My communication style

My communication style is easy-going, and we'll proceed at your pace in a way that feels comfortable. I'm relaxed, empathetic, and sometimes humorous. I'll ask questions, let you talk, or whatever feels best to you.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a therapist was based on life experiences and difficulties with my own mental health, as well as that of family and friends. I was able to get help, and I don't want anyone to suffer when help is available. I'm passionate about showing clients how they can get better.

My goals for you

Therapy is a partnership. Together, we'll identify goals that matter to you, whether improving relationships, building self-esteem, or another objective. Your goals may evolve as you gain insights, and we can adapt our plan anytime. I'll provide support and tools to help you move closer to where you want to be.

Our first session

In our first session, I'll ask questions to get started, and then we'll proceed in a way that's most comfortable for you. Sometimes clients share many details, and sometimes we just cover the basics. It will depend on what feels right for you.
