I typically work with young adults who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-identity issues. I also feel comfortable working with clients who are struggling with family or relationship issues.

My approach

I select the therapeutic approach depending on several factors, including the client's specific issues, preferences, and goals. The most common theoretical approaches I use are cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and humanistic therapy.

My communication style

I use open and honest communication. I practice a lot of active and reflective listening. I also use empathetic and affirmative communication. My sessions will always be client-centered. My goal is that my tone and environment foster a supportive, respectful, and empowering therapeutic environment.

My journey to mental healthcare

My desire to become a mental health therapist started when I worked as a Family support specialist for a nonprofit organization that offered services to youth who were at risk of abuse or neglect. I felt a strong calling to do more and help make a positive impact in others' lives.

My goals for you

My approach is collaborative goal setting. I believe in the importance of involving the client in the goal-setting process to ensure that the goals are aligned with their values, needs, and motivation.

Our first session

The first session consists of building rapport, introductions, discussion of confidentiality, assessment, and evaluation, exploring the presenting concerns, goal setting, discussion of therapeutic approaches, and planning the next steps.
