Michael D. Erickson LPC, is an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, mediator, and mental health professional with more than 25 years of experience serving individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families.

At the heart of Michael's professional philosophy is a simple belief: people deserve to feel heard, respected, and supported when they are facing difficult circumstances. He demonstrates a combination of clinical experience, crisis-intervention expertise, mediation training, and genuine commitment to helping others.

Michael's counseling approach is compassionate, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. He believes effective counseling begins by helping people understand their values, recognize patterns that may be creating distress, and develop practical strategies for moving forward.

Whether working with an individual facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship difficulties, or with a family navigating divorce, Michael's goal remains consistent: to create a safe, respectful environment in which people can gain clarity, develop healthier patterns, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.

My journey to mental healthcare

Michael earned a degree in Psychology from Northwestern University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. He has been licensed in Texas since 2001.

Our first session

The first session will include general intake, as well as the client addressing what brings him or her in. It will focus on period of building rapport and a therapeutic relationship.
