My communication style

I tend to be an active and direct communicator in sessions. I am not the counselor who will silently listen. I am engaged, curious, and interested in your life. I want to know who you are and who you want to be, and I want to help you transform into that authentic you.

My journey to mental healthcare

I began working as a substance abuse counselor in 2019 and quickly recognized the gap between mental health treatment and substance abuse treatment. This insight caused me to go back to school for my master's in counseling so that I could treat a wider range of people.

My goals for you

In the first session, we will discuss your therapeutic goals. I often check in with the clients to see how therapy is going, whether goals or techniques are still feeling relevant, and change course when needed. Counseling is fluid, and goals change and shift as we work together, and I want to make sure we are where we need to be.

Our first session

A first session is mostly information gathering and rapport building. We will get to know a little bit about each other and discuss your problems and goals. Sometimes it is light and easy, sometimes it is hard and emotional. I will attend to you however you show up on that day.
