Hi there, I'm Vanessa!

I help people break through barriers and reach their personal goals. I work with trauma, depression, anxiety, mood symptoms, self-harm, and suicidal ideations. I look forward to helping you process and learn more about yourself and what techniques can work to better your mental health.

My focus

I work with depression, anxiety, trauma, personality and mood disorders, suicidal ideations, and self-harm. I also have experience with substance abuse, dual diagnosis, relapse prevention, and grief counseling.

My approach

I use CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and person-centered approaches to help you step outside the box and find new ways to process emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Together, we'll discover the deeper causes of mental health symptoms and confront what feels difficult to face alone.

My communication style

I'm genuine and empathic, but I'm not afraid to help you confront things you may struggle to face on your own. I believe in stepping outside the box to explore the deeper, scarier side of what causes symptoms to arise. I'm not the right fit for every client, but I'm committed to helping those ready for this work.

My journey to mental healthcare

I've always enjoyed helping others through their most difficult emotional battles. I've been through my own struggles, and therapy taught me so much about myself. I believe a therapist can help you see things you aren't even aware are bothering you, and doing this work helps my community and humanity.

My goals for you

I believe in practicing what we learn in therapy, as this is how goals are reached. I use homework assignments, journaling, and daily goal setting to help you apply techniques between sessions.

During our first session, we'll discuss confidentiality and what it means. We'll talk about your main concerns and what goals you'd like to reach with counseling.
