Hi there, I'm Lucia!

I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, grief, and PTSD, using theories such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, along with Person-Centered and Solution-Focused approaches.

My focus

I have worked with clients as young as five and as old as 80. My experience working with a vast population and the struggles that happen in each age bracket has increased my knowledge of the issues experienced in each stage of life and the modality of working with each age group.

My approach

My approach is tailored to the individual needs of my clients. Cognitive Processing Therapy works well with PTSD, whereas Person-Centered or Solution-focused works well with certain traumas, anxiety, and stress. Working with my clients on the best modality that will help the healing process and meet the client's needs for a shared goal.

My communication style

I listen to my clients and engage using open-ended questions, making my clients think about what they want to receive from their counseling experience. My goal is for my clients to be equipped with coping skills to help themselves once counseling is completed.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a counselor because of the desire to help people. My whole life has been spent helping people from the time I was in school, through different careers I have had over the years, and in my community. Watching individuals gain control of their lives and become the best version of themselves has been a rewarding career.

Working together with clients to find out what they are looking to accomplish while in counseling. Having the client feel comfortable and feel comfortable being in a nonjudgmental zone.

The first session is an intake session. Find out what brings you to counseling with open-ended questions to see the best way to approach. Building a connection and giving me a sense of what would be the best way to help you help yourself.
