Hi there, I'm Sydney!

Talking to a stranger about your struggles can feel intimidating, but my goal is to create a welcoming, accepting, and non-judgmental environment. I meet people where they are and partner with them to achieve desired goals and outcomes.

My focus

I work best with young adults through those who are in their 90s experiencing phase of life issues, grief and loss, relationship conflict, mental health issues, adjustment to a medical diagnosis, marital discord, infidelity, family of origin issues, and spiritual issues.

My approach

My approach is eclectic, as I don't believe one approach fits all. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based, Person Centered, Humanistic, and trauma-informed approaches as needed, always starting where you are.

My communication style

My communication style is both empathic and direct. I listen intently for understanding and ask clarifying questions to be sure I get you. It's important to me that you feel heard and understood.

My journey to mental healthcare

The path that led me to become a therapist included a myriad of personal, spiritual, professional, and volunteer experiences. Through those experiences, I bring compassion, empathy, and a deep desire to help others in their journey.

My goals for you

Each person's journey is unique, and so are their goals. I partner with you to determine your goals for therapy, identify the obstacles you've faced in trying to reach them on your own, and then work on the steps necessary to finally reach them.

Our first session

I refer to the first session as information gathering. My goal is to get to know you as best I can in an hour, while also letting you get to know me. I always say finding a therapist is kind of like finding a church or finding a pair of jeans. It's not one size fits all, and I know I'm not the best fit for everyone, but I welcome you.
