Hi there, I'm Arthur!

I create a space where you can feel heard with compassion. I help you identify thinking errors that keep you from moving toward a life with more satisfaction and happiness.

My focus

I work with clients across ages, cultures, and diagnoses. Most are wrestling with self-esteem issues, anxiety, and depression. I have found myself more capable and confident in working with these concerns.

My approach

I use CBT and am certified in CPT, which has been very satisfying for clients with trauma. The most important thing I offer is compassionate listening—not to solve problems, but to help you discover a way forward.

My communication style

Compassionate, respectful listening is essential. I also find humor and occasional silliness to be of value when appropriate.

My journey to mental healthcare

I spent many years in ministry before deciding to come to terms with my sexuality and live authentically as a gay man in a loving relationship. Counseling had always been satisfying, and it seemed natural to continue with formal training. I am driven to help others realize more hope in their lives.

My goals for you

I let you know at the first session that I do not set goals or give advice. Reaching a goal must be in a way that is emotionally and logically attuned to you. I will help you recognize thinking errors that are obstacles in obtaining these goals.

I would like to know a little about your history, family, education, and vocational background. I will remind you that we are both strangers and that it takes time to build familiarity and trust. Some things may be difficult to talk about, so confidentiality is essential.
