My communication style

Casual but goal-directed. It is important to feel comfortable and trust your therapist. Although we want to work on your goals and why you are there. Sometimes that tangent is beneficial, but we will not allow avoidance or ruminating thoughts to take over.

My journey to mental healthcare

I joined wildland firefighting and emergency medical services to escape the foster care system. From there, I noticed a major need in mental health services, leaving our ambulance as the last resort for many patients. I started case managing callers and at a group home, transitioning foster youth into adulthood.

My goals for you

We utilize what you want your life to look like, or how things would go better. We want to reevaluate these goals within three months or twelve sessions. Measurable or observable becomes the most important.

Our first session

In the first session, we will review things like life now, life growing up, what family life is like, medications, and medical concerns that might affect mental health. We go into trauma, although only a snapshot, because the therapies I do quickly pinpoint what affects you the most.
