Hi there, I'm Tanner!

I believe that for someone to progress in therapy, they must feel comfortable with the person they are working with. That is why my first goal is to help you feel cared for and at ease. My approach combines emotionally focused and experiential therapy, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy along with my background in trauma and family therapy.

My focus

I have a lot of experience working with those who struggle with anxiety and depression. I have worked with teenagers struggling in those areas, along with substance abuse. I also enjoy working with families and couples.

I am a very relationship-focused therapist. I help you see how you are connected with those around you in the world. I believe that if you are struggling to connect with others, you are likely to struggle in many other areas of life.

My communication style

My hope is that you look forward to meeting with me. I hope that I am a person you feel like you can talk to and know that I will always be there to support you the best I can. Many of my clients, even after we are done meeting, will send me emails with updates on how they are doing in life, and that is one of my favorite parts of my job.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started with the idea that I would do something in business. I was able to see that I had the ability to help people, and this brought me joy. I shifted my focus to human development and family therapy with the belief that this is how I can best help people. I really enjoy getting to know people and supporting them to reach their goals.

I like to work hand in hand with you when it comes to setting goals. I enjoy being very transparent in the treatment process.

Our first session

During the first session, I like to get to know you on a superficial level, along with the therapeutic level. I like to know what you are struggling with and how you hope to change. I also like to know if there is anything you have done in the past in therapy that has not worked and you are not comfortable with.
