My journey to mental healthcare

When people ask me why I do this work, I often find it difficult to give a simple answer. My journey in healthcare spans nearly 40 years, beginning as a registered nurse (RN) and evolving into my current role as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). Throughout my career, I’ve been guided by a deep concern for the well-being of others.

My goals for you

Ask at the intake appointment what their goals are, assuring we are working toward the same outcomes. Rechecking at follow-up, assessing where we are in progress toward the goal. I also ask for completion of some screening tools occasionally in order to have a more objective-based perspective on where we are in meeting symptom outcome/goals.

Our first session

An hour +/- visit where we discuss past and current psychiatric, medical, family, and social history. I want to know what you see as your strengths and current needs. I want to your previous experience with providers (positive or otherwise!) seeking to meet you where you are and assist you in getting to where you would like to be.
