Hi there, I'm Megan!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My focus area is trauma-informed care. I utilize a psychodynamic theoretical approach to help clients discover deeper meaning in their experiences and learn to cope with challenges as they face them.

My focus

I welcome clients seeking assistance with a variety of struggles, including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, emotional and physical abuse, Bipolar I & II, identity issues, sexual orientation, religious trauma, shame and perfectionism, LGBTQ+ issues, post-partum related problems, life transitions, and workplace stress.

My approach

I help clients learn to practice being more present in the moment to reduce worries about the past or the future. My most common approaches I pull from are CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic theory, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, Attachment-Based, and Solution-Focused.

My communication style

Therapy can be a safe space to share your thoughts, receive motivation, or honest feedback. Or, it can be a place where you come to learn more about yourself. Your specific therapeutic goals will be worked into our style of treatment.

My journey to mental healthcare

I've always had a desire to have a deeper understanding of behavior and emotions. My own experiences with mental health challenges created a passion for helping others to better understand themselves and improve their functioning.

My goals for you

I allow clients to determine what is most important for them and what they would like to achieve. I provide client-centered guidance to help you determine goals that are reasonable and establish intervals to celebrate accomplishments and improve motivation.

Our first session

During the first session, you can expect to answer questions about your personal history, current challenges, and goals for therapy. I will also explain my approach to therapy, discuss confidentiality, and give you a chance to ask questions to determine if I am a good fit for you.
