Hi there, I'm Evelina!

I have broad experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of mental health issues. I have extensive experience serving individuals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. I am bilingual.

My focus

I work with clients who struggle with loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. This includes clients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

My approach

My work is based on a solution-focused, mind-body approach in which I combine psychotherapy and mindfulness techniques to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. In my work, I utilize CBT, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), nurtured heart approach, and motivational interviewing.

My communication style

I am inquisitive about my clients and eager to hear about their life and hurdles, and I think that comes across in the sessions. I feel that my clients also pick up on the non-judgmental and supportive space I provide in treatment.

My journey to mental healthcare

As an immigrant to the USA, I came across my own hurdles and eventually discovered my mental health. I was told by one of my school counselors that I should look into mental health as a career option. I took that advice seriously and went on to get my Master's in Social Work from Rutgers University in 2010.

My goals for you

Goal setting in my session is client-informed. As my work continues with clients, those goals may change as their story in sessions unfolds or life changes come up.

Our first session

In my first session, I go over my client's initial concerns and bio-social background. I also provide some strategies for how to deal with ruminating thoughts that may happen after such a session.
