My communication style is assertive, collaborative, empathetic, and accommodating. I believe in active listening which allows my clients to express their needs freely and honestly in an environment that is non-judgmental.

My journey to mental healthcare

I decided to become a mental health provider because of my passion for helping people. I have over 12 years of experience as a nurse practitioner. I started as a family nurse practitioner and later obtained a postgraduate degree in psychiatric and mental health because of my desire to help people with mental health challenges.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting with clients is collaborative; working together in identifying achievable goals. The clients should be actively involved in their care as they are better informed about what they wish to achieve. Collaborative approach to goal setting is built on mutual trust and gives clients a sense of ownership over their care.

Our first session

The first session is about building rapport and understanding the client’s mental health needs. My patients will leave the session feeling hopeful and having a better understanding of their mental health condition. They will understand the treatment plan moving forward and that we will work together to achieve their goals and objectives.
