I enjoy working with clients to address their interpersonal dilemmas as well as unresolved internal issues.

My focus

I have discovered that my approach often meshes and works well with SUD clients and clients with depression and social anxiety.

My approach

I mostly use motivational interviewing and CBT. I have DBT training for clients with personality issues. I have training in trauma treatments.

My communication style

I try to let the client do most of the talking, using MI techniques to help structure the conversation. I am good at drawing out clients who have limited insight. I have been told that I am easy to work with.

My journey to mental healthcare

I worked with children with disabilities and emotional disturbances, first as a floor staff member and then as a case manager. From there, I got good support to apply to grad schools and become a therapist. I have worked mostly in IMDs and private practice.

I partner with clients on goals as the treatment topics shift.

Our first session

They should expect to hear about rights to privacy and my reporting responsibilities. I also give a brief background of my work, and then we start to look at the presenting issues.
