Hi there, I'm Laura!

I deeply believe in the human capacity for growth in the face of incredible adversity. Pain is oftentimes inevitable, but suffering is optional. For those brave enough to reach out for support in trying times, I offer a new way to draw upon inner strengths and reframe how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

My focus

I am comfortable working with individuals and couples experiencing a wide range of concerns, including mood disorders, substance abuse, ADHD, life transitions, trauma, grief/loss, and couples' concerns.

My approach

I adopt an integrative, humanistic approach, drawing upon cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based therapies, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

My communication style

At your pace, we can explore problematic obstacles while gently introducing more adaptive, flexible ways of engaging with life and moving towards your goals. You may discover that it is your inner sense of knowing, self-love, and willingness to commit to making changes that will ultimately guide the way through the darkness.

My journey to mental healthcare

I completed my M.A. at Boston College in 2010 and my Ph.D. in Colorado in 2018. I've always been fascinated by human behavior and derive a great sense of meaning and purpose from being a part of clients' healing journeys and creating healthy life changes.

My goals for you

I take a warm, direct, and collaborative approach to setting both short-term and long-term goals with clients to overcome obstacles, change maladaptive patterns, and experience emotional healing.

Our first session

Our first session is different from others in that we will spend more time going through specific symptoms causing distress in the present, gathering history from the past, exploring the impact of current concerns on overall functioning, and collaboratively setting treatment goals for our next steps together.
