Hi there, I'm Alysha!

I am a therapist based in Olympia, Washington. My therapeutic orientation is attachment theory-based. I believe that secure attachment can be learned. My specialty populations are people experiencing mood disorders and relationship issues (relationships of all kinds).

My focus

I know there is no one-size-fits-all to therapy. We carry intergenerational trauma, but we do not have to let it dictate our life's trajectory. I help you break generational trauma cycles through insight therapy, radical self-acceptance, and self-compassion.

My approach

I am person-centered, emotion-focused, and humanistic. I incorporate strength-based, narrative, and existential approaches, and use art when possible. Together we create a realistic, achievable plan tailored to you.

My communication style

I see therapy as a partnership. I have been told I am gentle but firm. I am direct, but I do not assume I am correct. I am open to feedback, as I often find myself learning as much from my clients as I hope they learn from me.

My journey to mental healthcare

I am a second-generation mental health professional; my mother is a retired clinical psychologist. In my 20s, I tried to fight following in her footsteps, only to eventually come to realize that my special interests had become moral obligations.

My goals for you

I help clients reach goals by creating a tailored treatment plan with their voice. I seek to build self-esteem and foster inner resilience through collaboration, giving you authority over your own story.

Our first session

Our first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We’ll discuss your background and what brings you to therapy. Therapy is a process, and we’ll continue to build our work together over time. It’s completely normal to feel nervous about your first appointment.
