My communication style

I attempt to create a comfortable environment for people. The focus is on helping clients develop trust in me. I do this by accepting the person without judgment and being myself.

My journey to mental healthcare

I got interested in counseling because my own family has a background in mental health and addiction issues. Initially, I worked with teens who came from troubled families, fostered by the belief that counseling could help others improve their lives.

My goals for you

Setting goals with clients is done through the first two or three sessions in conjunction with them. It is done by creating treatment plans that are road maps for sessions. The plans are created and then given to the clients for final approval.

Our first session

The first session is one in which clients and I get acquainted with each other. I ask questions about the client's background, current lifestyle, and what brings them to seek therapy. I share my background and am open to answering any questions about me that the clients ask.
