My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) stems from a deep-seated passion for helping others navigate the complexities of mental health. Early in my career as a registered nurse, I encountered numerous individuals struggling with psychiatric disorders, often underserved and stigmatized.

My goals for you

I approach goal-setting with patients as a collaborative process, emphasizing their autonomy and preferences. We explore the patient's aspirations, concerns, and values to establish meaningful and achievable goals. Using a person-centered approach, I ensure that goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).

Our first session

I will conduct a compassionate and thorough assessment during the patient's first session to understand their unique needs and experiences. We will discuss the reasons for seeking therapy, medical and psychiatric history, current symptoms, and relevant life stressors. I will also take the time to explain my approach to treatment.
