Hi there, I'm Jonetta!

Most people call me Jo, and I'm happy you took the first step to get help. I've found that some people just need someone to speak to because they find it difficult to talk with the people around them for various reasons. I look forward to connecting with you.

My focus

I have experience working with patients from birth to three years old, up to the geriatric population. Currently, I am working with adults 18 years or older. I specialize in anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, life transitions, anger management, and addictions.

My approach

I assess your needs from a holistic perspective and help you develop strategies to address challenges and remove barriers. I use a strength-based approach and meet you where you are in the process. I draw from CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, DBT, Trauma Informed Care, and other evidence-based interventions.

My communication style

I use a strength-based approach when working with patients. I believe the patient is the expert in their lives, and I am here to assist in finding healthy ways to cope and resolve concerns that are identified during the assessment. I employ active listening, supportive reflective responses, and feedback.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist to help others. When I wake up in the morning, I have this desire and need to continue the work that has brought me great pleasure. At times it can be demanding, but I have always found it worthwhile.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting by identifying areas you'd like to work on. I also identify goals based on the information you provide during intake. I ask if you're comfortable adding identified items to your treatment plan.

During our first session, we'll complete an intake. I ask questions to identify concerns, build rapport, and collaborate with you to complete treatment goals to work on during our time together.
