Hi there, I'm Alan!

I work with adults and specialize in stress, anxiety, and depression. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness to help my clients overcome difficulties and feel better.

My focus

I have found that my style and approach fit well with adults and young adults who struggle with stress, anxiety, and depression during times of readjustment and behavioral difficulties. I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds, including members of the military and Veterans.

My approach

I use a person-centered approach to help my clients heal and grow. My therapeutic approach focuses on the needs and preferences of the client, and I blend a hybrid of modalities including CBT, ACT, and Mindfulness.

My communication style

I strive to set a calming and comfortable therapeutic environment for my clients in which communication flows easily. I provide support, guidance, and empathy in a non-judgmental way. Working with me feels collaborative and non-threatening.

My journey to mental healthcare

I became a therapist because I realized that I had the ability to connect with others in a meaningful and helpful way. I enjoy helping others and have found that I am approachable and easy to talk to about important concerns.

My goals for you

I approach goal setting with my clients through the use of “SMART” goals (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound). I assist my clients in setting short- and long-term goals and reinforce an “I can” attitude.

Our first session

In the first session with me, a client can expect to spend some time discussing their needs and feelings. I will ask many questions about the client's life, struggles, needs, and goals for therapy, and we will work together to explore and establish the client's expectations.
