My communication style

The time is yours, and you make the decisions. I am here to help you. I want you to feel heard. I will have questions, and you will have yours. I can also challenge you at times to take healthy risks to make the changes that you want. I want you to feel like we are a team.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have had years of life experiences and challenges along the way. My parents died when I was young, and I began to use alcohol and drugs. I went to see a school counselor in my freshman year of college, and it helped me a lot. I have seen therapists at different times. I enjoy helping others, and that's why I became a therapist.

My goals for you

People know themselves best. They know where they are at and what they want to achieve. My approach is to respect people where they are at and hear what their goals are or in some cases help them identify goals. The next step is determine together how to get there. Using a SMART approach is a proven solution.

Our first session

The first session is very important to me. I understand, whether it's someone's first time in therapy or they have had several therapeutic experiences, that a safe, trusting relationship needs to be formed. I want people to feel comfortable. I want us to get to know each other.
