Hi there, I'm Amber!

Welcome, I have experience counseling families, couples, children, and individuals. I work with children and families in school settings, and with individuals and couples in private practice. I completed my internship working with children and adults in a hospital setting experiencing a crisis.

My focus

Areas of focus: Anxiety, depression, and lifestyle development. I appreciate a larger perspective of life path development and add elements of this topic to each client's story.

My approach

I present a therapeutic alliance that is unbiased and offer an ideal short and long-term client experience you can return to as needed comfortably. I offer a note of choice in treatment planning and create an ideal counseling experience with written outcomes. I provide resources and skill-building focuses to reinforce the process.

My communication style

I am an assertive communicator. I often prefer to listen; however, I will be active in responding with intention during the session and supporting communication based on goals.

My journey to mental healthcare

I am drawn to counseling as a result of knowing that it was a long-term goal as a second career and first interest in psychology. I feel confident that I have developed attributes that support a balanced lived experience and are complementary in nature for supporting others through role modeling and leadership.

Our first session

In the first session, we will create a treatment plan and develop the content over time with more specifics. We will gather information that supports goals, symptoms, coping, and other patterns. It is my goal in the first session to build a therapeutic, unbiased perception for a safe experience for development.
