My communication style

I have a warm communication style and want to understand and work with the client so they never feel judged. Working with me allows a client to tell me what they have never told anyone else.

My journey to mental healthcare

I adopted my wife's two sons, and I believed that in order to work together and peacefully as a family, we would need to work with a therapist. The therapist we chose was wonderful, and I decided to get a Master's in Social Work and become a therapist myself. I learned EMDR in 1997 and observed how it allowed people to heal much quicker.

My goals for you

We discuss the presenting issues that brought the client to therapy. Together, we assign a subjective unit of disturbance, beginning with no disturbance being a 0 or 1, to the highest disturbance being a 9 or 10. We usually begin somewhere in the middle.

Our first session

During the first session, the client might tell me about themselves, and I, in turn, will tell them about my therapy approach.
