My communication style

I tend to be very direct with my clients. I have a lot of compassion and understanding for what my clients are going through. Reaching out for help takes a lot of courage. I do not promise that I am always going to tell you what you want to hear. I do promise you that I'll always tell you the truth, and I will tell you what you need to hear.

My journey to mental healthcare

I have known that I wanted to be a therapist since I was 15 years old. It's all that I have ever really wanted to do. Being a therapist isn't really a job...it's a calling. I do this job because it is who I am. There aren't many jobs out there that you can say that you are saving lives, but I truly believe that this is one of those jobs.

My goals for you

I like to help set our goals for therapy up front. Understanding what brought you here and what you are looking to get from your time in counseling is important at the beginning. Priorities do change over time, though, so being able to adapt to those changes is important too.

Our first session

The first session is really about getting to know you and what brought you here. I like to hear your story...your personal journey. The first session is also where I like to discuss a treatment plan. What do you want to get out of your time in therapy? What is it you are looking for? The first session really sets the tone for what is to come.
