I enjoy hearing people's stories and working with them to use their strengths to make their lives better.

My focus

I have worked with cancer patients, Alzheimer's, anxiety, substance abuse, domestic violence, adolescents, postpartum challenges, epilepsy, grief, work-related stress, divorce, LGBTQIA and transgender clients, and inner child work.

My approach

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches, short-term therapy, and family systems work to support clients in reaching their goals.

My communication style

I like to hear what the client's strengths are and build on those to help them look at possible solutions. I want the client to feel supported and have a relaxed therapeutic relationship.

My journey to mental healthcare

My father took us to Mexico and supplied families with food, shelter, and clothing, started a medical clinic, and provided an ambulance. He was a natural social worker, and I caught the bug.

I ask the client how I can help and how they will know when they no longer need counseling. What will be in their life and what will they be doing?
