My name is Arnold Acquah, MSW, LCSW. My goals as a therapist are to help my clients recognize their capacity for self-sufficiency and self-advocacy, ultimately helping them recognize the power that they wield. My areas of focus include working with adults struggling with ADHD, depression, and anxiety.
My approach
My job is to help you navigate through the complexities of life so that we can understand the underlying factors that contribute to your current struggles. This understanding may pave the way for us to work towards decreasing the distress you may be experiencing. The goal is to begin working towards healing the relationships that we have with ourselves and our communities. I utilize a cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy interventions to help facilitate healing.
My focus
I have worked with adults struggling with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Our work has helped them recognize the validity of their challenges so that ownership can be taken to figure out how to effectively regulate emotions and motivations.
My communication style
I set a dynamic and reflective tone for my sessions. I find that most clients feel validated and prioritized within my sessions.
My goals for you
I take a collaborative approach when setting goals with my clients. I want us to be able to create realistic goals that are meaningful and attainable. The focus will also include setting goals that reflect your preferences, values, and needs.
My first session with you
Clients should expect us to focus on understanding the initial reason for seeking services and should expect to communicate what their expectations of treatment are with me.
